Some mean old man was pushing and hitting people with his cane and chose to try and pick on his female travel partner in front of me. Usually, I stay of things that are not my business however hitting someone is never ok. Once we were checked in and on board we went to eat and as soon as they said we could go to our cabins we did. First night was pretty easy going after this. First day was at sea.
Sitka was our first port, which we chose to do our own thing and walk around to check out the scenery. The next port was Juneau; here we went to the Mendenhall Glacier. That was a real eye-opening experience and would recommend it to anyone going to Juneau. Wednesday, we went to Icy Strait Point or Hoonah, Alaska and let me just say it lived up to its name. It rained and was freezing cold all day, but that’s all a part of the adventure. Even in the rain we did go on a whale watching excursion and it was amazing. Saw a lot of whales, and sea lions. The views were breathtaking. Thursday, we went to Ketchikan. It’s a small four block town that mom and I walked within an hour or so. Not many shops open, but it was nice. On the way onto the ship, we saw jelly fish. Most of Friday was a sea day we ported in Victoria B.C. Canada at 8pm. We chose to stay on board and go to a nice dinner with our group.
