I told you guys I had exciting things to come! My husband and I went on our first cruise and it was all up and down. New places, tropical weather in January, sea sickness, and yummy food.

Our trip went from December30th, to January 9th, and honestly after our heartbreak a few days earlier I didn't know if were even going to make it on the trip... But alas we both decided it'd be better than staying home and being sad. We left out of Vegas on the 30th and flew to New Orleans; our cruise was heading to Jamaica. Remember the sea sickness I mentioned? Well our first two days were out at sea and my poor husband was so sick and miserable the whole time. So I spent the first two days exploring and dining alone, all while trying to help him the best I could, but If you've ever been sea sick then you know it's just awful. Luckily when we got to Jamaica he was able to get off the ship and eat some food and thankfully keep it down.

Unfortunately, due to over eating he missed the Cayman Islands, but finally on day five things turned around. We made it to Roatan and had an amazing day exploring and eating. Day six we were in Belize at the cruise lines semi-private Island. I did some research and found that the cruise line purchased the island and partnered with Belize to build and to employ locals and keep all the food native to Belize. How cool is that?? It is a huge economic growth project between the government of Belize and the cruise line.

We then headed to Cozumel, where my husband just had to track down the best food on the island. We had a great walk through the community and back to the ship in the process. We held a huge iguana(which I'll try and post pictures of or you can go to my Instagram @cruiseplannersandreahines), continued to explore and take pictures and then finally headed back to the ship.

Lastly, we got back to New Orleans on January 8th and then we flew home. We got in late so we stayed the night in Vegas before driving home. The next few days we spent unpacking, handing out gifts I collected, and just relaxing after all the travel.

I have posted a bunch of pictures from the trip on my Facebook and Instagram pages. feel free to go check them out and follow along for upcoming trips.
